Unapologetic Me: A Celebration of Black Queer Art

Traditionally, black bodies have not been given the space to move and create freely. Queer black bodies, even less. Several Omaha based LGBTQ artists have utilized themes of expression, self, and body to produce work that challenges societal and cultural norms of how blackness is consumed. The exhibition spans various media to include photography, digital illustration, mixed media assemblage, and writing. Unapologetic Me invites viewers to explore what it means to be black - what it means to be queer - what it means to be both in space together.
